If you are on Tik Tok and also enjoy shopping at Whole Foods, you’ve probably seen the trend of influencers showing off their grocery haul from Whole Foods, which they ordered from Too Good To Go. For those who do not know, Too Good To Go is an app for food businesses to sell their surplus food, with a mission to reduce food waste. You can learn more about their mission and the app at their website here. When I learned about the app, I was intrigued and interested to try it. Although I do not have a Whole Foods close by, I do have a lovely organic grocery store called The Fresh Market that is closer to me. When I saw that they were on Too Good To Go, I got excited and ordered a bag. How these orders work is that you get a surprise bag of groceries, which you can choose between produce, bakery, prepared foods, dairy products and more. Not only does the app promote reducing food waste, but it is cost effective for the customer as well. The surprise bags at The Fresh Market contain $30 worth of groceries, but the customer only pays $10. My surprise grocery haul today included a jug of freshly squeezed tangerine juice, a small container of guacamole, a kale salad kit and a prepped vegetable medley. A surprise grocery haul like this encourages me to be creative with my weeknight meals coming up, and I already have some fun ideas. If you have never tried using Too Good To Go, I encourage you to download the app, find a local grocery store, and see what fun groceries you receive in your surprise grocery haul!
