Housewarming Party!

This past weekend, my boyfriend and I had some friends over for a Housewarming Party and wow, did we cook up a storm! With this party, I decided that I wanted to create a theme that would reflect the food and drinks we served. The theme I came up with was ‘Afternoon in Amalfi’, where we served Italian food & cocktails. For cocktails, the Italian Spritzes were a huge hit. We served Aperol, Hugo, Limoncello and Sarti Spritzes with all the fresh garnishes and lots of Prosecco. We also served Non-Alcoholic Italian Spritzes as well. For the food, we created a large Charcuterie spread with Italian cheeses, bread and olive oil for dipping, and other small bites that wet our appetites. For sandwiches, we made Pesto Chicken Sliders with Mozzarella on Focaccia Bread, as well as Caprese Paninis. We also made Fried Raviolis from scratch, which were highlighted in my last post. For a lighter side, we whipped up a Cucumber Salad that was tossed in a Lemon Caper Calabrian Chili Vinaigrette. What a refreshing, acidic and spicy contrast from the other fried, rich foods that were served. For an Italian themed party, how can you not end the night with some Homemade Gelato? I broke out my lovely Ninja Creami and made some delicious Vanilla Bean Gelato and Lemon Italian Ice. It was a lovely day full of delicious food, joyous laughter and lots of love as we now settle into our new space. I love that this was our first party to host in this gorgeous place, and it definitely won’t be our last!
